The masterful Fontecanese was conceived to be the best wine in Italy made with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. After an extensive study, which scientifically mapped each microplot of the 600 hectares of Castello di Montepò vineyards, Jacopo Biondi Santi identified a tiny plot of soil in Galestro between 357 and 377 meters of altitude that produces just 250 cases of a red of rare elegance and depth. Each vineyard is cared for individually to guarantee grapes of exceptional quality. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and another 16 months in the cellars of Castello di Montepò, the Fontecanese is complex and full of layers of flavors, which combines the typical aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon with a refreshing touch that reminds us of the best Italian wines.
